Education & Outreach

Beringia South’s educational programs strive to let the practical experience of science itself engage and teach local students. Now in its fourth year, the Integrated Wildlife Research Education Program has extended from science-based education into disciplines such as art (illustrations) and film. The program is designed to provide all students access to rigorous, relevant, and innovative educational opportunities to view the world through the eyes of wildlife. Our purpose is to involve local students in outdoor-based science education, to increase the participation of under-represented groups, to refine the teaching of scientific education at all levels, and to integrate principles of scientific research into the classroom.
